Cruising form Northern Chesapeake Bay to 1000 Islands, NY

Essential things to remember when cruising Delaware Bay
- The Bay has many shallow areas; this can cause turbulent waters
- The current can reach 4 to 6 kns so plan your cruise accordingly
- DO NOT cut your turn from Delaware Bay or from the C&D to the Bay to sharp as there is a jetty extending on the SE side of the canal. At high tide it may be submerged by just a few inches.
